imread(path, **kwargs)[source]#

Determine and call reading routine depending on filetype. Provide interface for numpy arrays, standard optical image formats, dicom images, and vtu images.

Parameters:

pathstr, Path or list of such: Path(s) to file(s).
**kwargs: Keyword arguments tailored to the file format.

Returns:

Image, or list of such: Image of collection of images.
